2. GET A COPY OF THE AGREEMENT. Don't wait until you get to the rental agency to pick up the vehicle and then begin checking into the lease agreement. You will be time pressured then and will not have the time to really think things through. Try to get a copy to read over prior to leasing and you will have the time to read and understand the document you are signing.

3. Research Customer Comments: Although you may be going with a large company, such as Budget, it is still important that you look into the specific shop you will be dealing with. Although companies like Budget are well know and associated with customer satisfaction each location is ran by different individuals, and therefore may have different service. You may find that the customer comments for the location you are looking to rent from are not good, in which case you can search for another rental company in the same vicinity that you can rent from.

4. LOOK FOR ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGES. When traveling you don't want to have to be concerned if you take a wrong turn or decide to go sightseeing at an area of interest two hours away. You want to know that whatever you do in your leased vehicle that it will not wind up costing you extra. So be sure to try and get a package with unlimited mileage. Most companies won't offer it unless you ask, after all, they know you will be going over on miles and that will help increase their profits. Unlimited mileage will almost always work out to be your best deal, even if you wind up paying a little more up front, you will save a lot in the end.

5. Know The Road Service Policy: You do not want to wait until it is to late, to find out that htere is no emergency road service provided with your contract. Always ask your rental company what is the procedure should the vehicle brake down.
